Sean Danaher

You weren't always like this. As a child, you played and loved freely. You trusted the world, if only for a brief time. As adults, we live in our heads most of the day, ruled by an inner manager that always demands more and an inner critic that is quick to blame us if we fall short. We get sick of living like this and give into the impulse to escape the pain, only to feel more ashamed after. All the while, our inner child hides in the background, yearning to be free - to feel safe enough to come out and play again. How do we get out of this cycle, when we have been steeped in it for so long?

As a therapist for the better part of a decade now, Sean (he/her) firmly believes in the power of working compassionately with these parts of us. Drawing from the frameworks of IFS, EMDR, and other experiential therapies, he helps people explore ways to reconnect with their hearts, their bodies, and their sense of play. His style is deliberate, open-hearted, and playful.

Also licensed in Colorado, Sean works with those seeking support around psychedelic integration in both states. He offers rain-or-shine walk and talk sessions with his therapy dog Special throughout the week in SE Portland and Forest Park. Office sessions and virtual sessions are also available.
